BSA and Committees hold status conference call to discuss progress in the Chapter 11 case

On March 19, the BSA and the committees representing survivors of past abuse in Scouting and unsecured creditors held a status conference call in which they provided updates regarding outstanding legal matters that they have been working diligently to address.

During the call, attorneys representing the BSA reported to Judge Laurie Selber Silverstein that they had reached an agreement with the committees on a preliminary injunction that would pause all abuse lawsuits through May 18. While there are still some objections remaining among attorneys representing survivors, the BSA is committed to attempting to resolve those outstanding issues.

The BSA also presented updates to Judge Silverstein on other motions that are before the court. This status conference represents an important step forward in the Chapter 11 process ahead of the second official court hearing on the case on April 15.
